About

“Ay naku” is a tagalong expression meaning surprise. I learned the term in the Philippines, a great place for island hopping. I spent ten years visiting tropical islands, all the way from Kenya to the Philippines and Japan. It was a wonderful, endless time, an era of swimming, snorkelling, diving, sailing the ocean, a stage of bizarre encounters…Living in primitive luxury struck my imagination greatly: I got several cheap note-books filled with sketches and… here they are! In promoting my work as an illustrator, I can’t find anything better than putting forward old travel images.
Although I finally settled in my hometown Ancona -Italy- I still believe that wandering is a pure, humorous activity, if we are able to keep the necessary buoyancy: this is the key to my images.
If you are travelling and enjoy AYNAKU please send your comments.:they will be useful to me to boost the gallery. Feel free to download: you might send your favourite illustrations to your friends as e-cards.
I will appreciate your choice.
