self-portrait aynaku illustration travel

The past and present exist side by side, inhabiting the same person. This is my backwards self-portrait, while drawing Aynaku’s illustrations. Usually all I do is to sit behind my desk and concentrate, trying hard to merge into my memories: slowly a sort of transparent vision surrounds me  and the image materializes on my computer’screen…

Wonderful concept! And I love that quote by “K.”

Boy, isn’t that the truth! I love your style and vision, your art always intrigues and satisfies. Love your work!!!

btw I usually work on paintings that are between 12″ x 16″ and up but for illustrations like this weeks it is 1 7/8 x 5 5/8 for this mailer. I like making small illustrations when I can because they are flat and easy to store in my flat files. I am running out of space…

Interesting concept; some people’s back sides may actually be more photogenic than their font side ;).
