In 1980 my father bought me a second hand Renault 4: I was very proud of it, its lysergic and bright green body made me very happy, for some reasons…In July I decided to venture to Morocco driving my car: after all, in 1979 a Renault 4 was entered in the Paris-Dakar Rally and came 3rd while many cars didn’t even finish! All I had to do was to bring some spare parts with me and find someone who would join the trip. That was easy, and one early morning I left, with a couple of friends. It was a long, long trip all the way trough South of France and Spain. After three days we finally landed in Ceuta, the last Spanish possession in Africa. The day after we crossed the border and got Morocco, a great place to carry out a bit of adventurous car driving…And my old, cheap, strong car was perfect for the task….She broke out and died a few years later, suddenly, God only knows why!

Here are three interesting links on last week’s topic. All of them had been considering about the massive and brainwashing amounts of advertisements we deal with every day…

Signboard painting was a funny job. Actually I made no much money out of it but painting let me survive for almost ten months. My strategy was simple: island hopping between Malaysia and Thailand looking for beach resorts that needed brand new signboards… all I wanted was free food and accommodation at my clients resorts, for a couple of months at least. Then I moved again: a wonderful job indeed, one of the best I ever experienced…So this me at work. This large signboard, maybe my masterpiece (!) was done in Perhentian Kecil, a beautiful Malaysian islet; it was painted for a dive shop run buy a Norwegian couple: on that occasion I even got some money and free dives too!
Among the works done by IF’s artists last week, I selected a few interesting links: south ocean ; third day ; espial design
last but not least, here is Aynaku’s brand new template. It was suggested by my invaluable web master Michele, someone who really knows and loves his job, but who would like sometimes to move to the islands, and sell pizza…thank you my guru!

Behind the walls of his room in Al Mansura Hotel, in bustling downtown Nairobi, a man breathed into a saxophone. My room was next to his and I could hear the musician training himself all day long. At about 7 pm, invariably it was all over. The …
