teriyaki aynaku illustration travel

Bean sprouts are the tender stems sprouted from a variety of beans. Most common ones are soybean sprouts which are long succulent and crisp. Soya foods have been part of the Chinese diet for over 4000 years and are widely employed in a variety of oriental recipes. In Singapore I used to go and dine in  different Food Centres, till I tried and became keenly involved, with teriyaki food. Teriyaki is a Japanese cooking sauce for grilled fish or meat. After being boiled and reduced to the desired thickness, the sauce is added to the fish which is marinated and then grilled or broiled. Sometimes ginger is added, and the final dish may be garnished with green onions or crisp and fresh soybean sprouts. I mostly like veggie food since almost twenty years and I know how exciting vegetarian food can be…Nevertheless changes are my favourite way of life and here it is a juicy teriyaki recipe!

Wow that recipe made me hungry! This is a nice piece - a little different from other pieces you’ve done on grander scales. Great for “sprout!”

Nice work. Japanese food is so much better for you than the crap we americans eat. Too bad I live in the woods and don’t have acces to such good food.

Beautiful and fascinating! I don’t know if you meant the sexual reference or not, but it certainly adds an extra dimension!

Your pieces are always to technically detailed and beautiful, I wonder how you are able to turn one out every week. This, from one who has the same problem as you do.
