Hello Massimo,
Great illo!
As you know, i have been staying in this island since '85. I did a lot of fishing back then. My buddy caught one the size of a steel drum cover. It had real great colors. I suggested to him to put it back, he did not want to and he said it actually taste good. The guy boiled the pieces to separate the cartilages from the meat. Then cooked it simply with sauteed ginger and coconut milk. Tasted good. Specially with ,our favorite, Rum cola!

Regards...

Wonderful stingray. Great colors and shading. I like the softness of this illo. Looks like you captured it as it floated past under the sea.

Hello Massimo,

Lovely ray...Do you know that I also did my Padi Openwater & Advanced in Boracay in 1999? I love that place. I don't remember it being very touristy back then...

I also almost died in Boracay when my mask broke into half at 20 meters below the surface from the pressure and being towed away by teh current. Anyways, I still love Boracay. So beautiful.

This is so beautiful. I can just imagine swimming underwater nearby and watching this graceful creature circle and swim along with me.

I hope it´s not too redundant to note I had a very similar experience once on an Indonesian island. I did not dive, only snorkle, but there was this HUGE thing all of a sudden floating underneath me, just a meter away! That was a very quick run out of the water! Did I see an UFO? I couldn´t tell what this creature was. Fortunately the stingray flipped a few times up out of the water so my friend was able to tell me what the mysterious swimster was and I was relieved hearing they don´t eat humans. Puh!

I love how you portrayed it. The eyes look quite hypnotizing. Lucky you that you got to dive with a mermaid!

I was exited to find out about your other blog and I dug out a photography to show on mine just for you. It seems we are working in a similar direction. Space and architecture and artistic use of space are among my interests. I feel there is an email due shortly... :)

How do you do this type of art? It has the feel of an airbrush effect?
