I got plenty of old postcards. I use to buy them to enhance my imagination. Best postcards are usually thirty years old, at least. The colours slightly faded away, suggest times gone by, and this process really adds to their glamour… Subjects and characters are often a bit unusual and always make me smile or laugh… Local beauty is a postcard edit by National Bookstore Manila in 1960s which I found in a small Chinese shop in Legaspy City. I suddenly felt in love with this old-fashioned, glamorously funny and sexy image. I bought the postcard and put it in my wallet as sailors do with their girlfriend photographs. I fancy this local beauty had to be provoking in hers days! Well, here she is. I have tried my best to adjust the postcards pale colours to a digital palette; the girl’s pose is quite similar to the original. I totally changed hers hair style and inserted brand new hibiscus flowers, to improve the surreal, glamorous mood…
…love!

She looks like me hehhheeeeeee. She really does … but her lips are more glamorous and I don’t have a hibiscus :) Very glamorous!

A fine glamour, the colours are inviting. The story of the postcard is interesting. I like the hibiscus flowers, the really add the glam.
